Collect Payments from Customers

Learn how to accept payments from your customers at the counter using Billing Desk.

Not the same as subscription payment

This guide is about collecting money from your customers for services and products. To pay for your Oflync subscription, see Pay for your subscription.

What you need first

  • Billing Desk active on your subscription
  • Cashflow active (required for online payment collection)
  • Services set up with prices in your outlet

Collecting a cash payment

  1. Open Billing Desk
  2. Select your outlet
  3. Add services or products to the invoice
  4. Review the total
  5. Click Save or Complete
  6. Collect cash from the customer
  7. Give them the receipt

Collecting an online payment (UPI / card)

  1. Open Billing Desk
  2. Select your outlet
  3. Add line items and review the total
  4. Click Collect payment or Pay via Razorpay
  5. Customer scans QR or enters payment details on the screen
  6. Once payment succeeds, the invoice is marked paid
  7. Amount appears in Cashflow automatically

Step-by-step example

A customer had a ₹500 haircut at your salon.

  1. Open Billing Desk → select "Sunrise Salon — MG Road"
  2. Add "Hair Cut — ₹500"
  3. Total shows ₹500
  4. Customer pays via UPI → you click Collect payment
  5. Customer scans and pays
  6. Invoice marked paid. ₹500 recorded in Cashflow.

Tips

  • Always select the correct outlet — billing is tracked per location
  • For cash payments, still create an invoice for accurate records
  • Check Cashflow at end of day to reconcile with your cash drawer

Troubleshooting

Common questions

Can I give a discount?
Adjust line items or add a discount line before completing the invoice.

Can I accept partial payment?
Create the invoice for the full amount. Handle partial payments per your business policy.

Do I need a separate Razorpay account?
No. Online payments go through Oflync's integrated payment system.

Are there fees on customer payments?
Check with Oflync support for current payment processing terms.
