Membership
Sell membership cards with unique codes, apply member discounts at the till, and email a branded card with QR.
What it does
Membership is an Oflync product for partners who want recurring member benefits:
- Define plans (discount %, duration, sale price)
- Sell a plan as a Billing Desk line item to a registry customer
- Issue a unique code (e.g.
MEM000001) — one active membership per customer (renew/replace when they buy again) - Apply the code (or auto-apply when the customer is selected) for % off services and products
- Email a membership card with QR when the customer has an email on file
- Activate / deactivate plans so old packages stop applying at the till without deleting history
Who it's for
- Salons and spas with loyalty / annual packages
- Clinics and studios with member pricing
- Any outlet that wants card-based discounts tied to Customer Registry
Key things you can do
| Area | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Plans | Create plans; deactivate or reactivate later |
| Issued cards | List cards, filter by customer, cancel a card |
| Customer Registry | Assign a plan to a customer; open their issued cards; show customer recognition QR |
| Billing Desk | Search/create customers, sell plans, apply MEM… codes |
How to set up
- Platform / Starter / Standard subscribers already get Membership with the rest of the catalog — no separate purchase needed
- Or subscribe to Membership alone (Product Launcher → lock icon → Subscription, or admin activation)
- Open Membership → Plans → New plan
- Set name, discount %, duration (1 / 3 / 6 / 12 / 24 / 60 months), and sale price
Plan status
- Active plans can be sold and their issued cards can be applied at Billing Desk
- Deactivated plans cannot be sold or applied — existing cards stay in history but will not discount invoices until you activate the plan again
- Confirm deactivate / activate / cancel in the UI before the change is applied
How to sell at Billing Desk
- Open Billing Desk for an outlet
- Search or create a registry customer (name, phone, email, address, ZIP — email recommended for the card)
- Choose a plan under Sell membership → Add
- Optionally add services — member % does not discount the membership sale line itself
- Submit the invoice — the card is issued (and emailed if the customer has an email)
Quick customer recognition
At Billing Desk you can paste or scan a customer recognition code (OFLYNC:CUST:…) to load the registry customer instantly, then sell or apply membership as usual.
From Customer Registry (or Billing Desk after a customer is selected), open the Customer QR dialog to:
- Download PDF — printable card with name, contact details, customer ID, and QR
- Send email — emails the same details + QR to the customer (requires email on file; sent from core-service via SMTP)
This recognition QR identifies the customer, not the membership code. Membership discounts still use the MEM… code (or auto-apply when the customer has an active applicable card).
How to apply a membership
- Select a registry customer with an active card whose plan is still active — discount applies automatically, or
- Enter the membership code (e.g.
MEM000001) in Membership / Discount Code → Apply
Codes will not apply if the membership is cancelled/expired, or if the underlying plan was deactivated.
Assign from Customer Registry
- Open Customer Registry
- Use Assign membership on a row (requires Membership feature)
- Or open Issued cards for that customer from Membership
- Use the QR icon for download PDF / email of the recognition card
Tips
- Keep customer email in the registry so membership and recognition emails can send
- Renewals replace the previous active card for that customer
- Deactivate a plan when you retire a package instead of deleting history
- Pair with Customer Registry and Billing Desk for the full flow
Common questions
Does Membership discount the membership sale itself?
No. The % applies to services and products on the invoice, not the membership plan line.
What happens if I deactivate a plan?
You cannot sell that plan or apply its codes at Billing Desk until you activate it again. Past issued cards remain listed.
Is one membership code enough for recognition at the counter?
Use the customer recognition QR (OFLYNC:CUST:…) to find the person quickly; use the MEM… code (or auto-apply) for the discount.
Do I need a separate Membership subscription on a platform plan?
No. Platform / Starter / Standard already unlock Membership with the catalog.
